The Significance of The “Courage To Create” Community for Author-Illustrators

Dear Ragan and Adrienne,

When I think about the Courage To Create community, I smile a really big, hearty smile. This is because there is so much about this community that I love.

First of all, I love the creator, Bethany. She has so much love in her heart to see all of us kidlit authors and illustrators succeed.

You can hear it in her voice as she leads some of the sessions, and you can feel it in every syllable uttered in the manifesto she has created to serve her community and the community of authors and illustrators who take one of her many Writing Barn courses. The community there is welcoming to all kinds of writers and illustrators - from poets to memorists to picture book authors of both fiction and non-fiction.

The webinars that she hosts gives insights to those at various career stages - from the pre-published to the post-published. She also has teachings that support the business-building side of the author-illustrator journey. She is honest and wants to create a community space that will not only foster growth, but foster the courage to find one’s voice and to go after the creative path that resonates with one’s soul.
