I See SHAPE-Illustration Ideas EVERYWHERE!

As an author-illustrator, one of my favorite things to do is to look at abstract tiles, paintings, and textured walls to find characters. I researched it and it’s a perception tendency known as Pareidolia, which is like a puzzle for my eyes and mind. I see shapes that aren’t really there, but I find faces in clouds, on textured walls, and in tiles.

And it’s an amazing experience. I see many very interesting characters, and my mind creates stories around them. I mostly see a face, and then maybe a character. I also sometimes se a scene. I stare it it for a few seconds and try to get my mind to understand what it is seeing.

There are times I will take a picture, but interestingly, I don’t always see the initial character that I saw, but I may see something else.

It sparks my imagination because it’s like I get to find hidden treasures - adding a touch of wonder as I get to bring those characters to life.
